One of the greatest soundtracks ever, pity the film didnt really live up to much. Infact I dont think the film ever made a proper release? Mainly compiled from Canadian, and a few American bands, this (at least in my oppinion) doesnt have any weak tracks on it... DOA & Nomeansno provide some classic solid punk rock songs, and you'll no doubt know how much these bands rock already, but thrown in the mix we have a whole load of other tings... The Beatnigs have an industrial/hip hop vibe going on with their sound, and this song was later done by Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprasy 9 (sic?). I, Braineater are kinda new wave mixed with The Cramps, and has a great 80s feel to it. Gerry Hannah plays a beautiful acoustic number, he wrote this in prison after he tried blowing up a nuclear power plant or something... Art Bergman follows that with a nice 80s rock thing, a tad like tod Bruce Sprinsteen. Evan Johns provides a blues rock thing, kinda hard to describe, but its damn good... The Groovaholics are another fine rocking band, more chilled than the others... The album closes with a Jello Biafra giving a dictatorship/big brother style speech, with some scary atmosperic beats provided by Keith LeBlanc... "National Security is more important than Individual Rights, Sports broadcasts will proceed as scheduled... Shut Up! Be Happy! Obey All Orders without question"...
A great album, and one you know you want...

Dave Heroes says: I used to think Alternative Tentacles were pretty cool until I got told off for posting their stuff...

From Alt Tentacles: Hey, this soundtrack is still in print, we'd appreciate it if you'd take down the link

The second punk album I ever bought around 1990 - still holds strong as one of my all time faves - and the second installment from which is commonly referred to as one of BR's 'Holy Trinity' LPs (along with 'Suffer' and 'Against the Grain'). With more hooks than Abu Hamza on a fishing boat this badboy rocks like a muthafucka - raw, fast, ballsy, and lashings and lashings of 'oozing aaarhhs' just the way I like it. As soon as I heard it there was no turning back - the whole punk rock rollercoaster just blew up for me. Many a classic on here - 'Automatic Man', 'Change of Ideas' 'You' - all are little belters! Makes me reminisce way back to the heady days of school, skating and month-long parties and this baby was always a regular rockin from tha ghetto blaster as we shredded Wm Low's carpark or on the turntable as we tried smoking more banana skins. Tracks even featured on the Paper Bag Man flicks - we all loved this album - lots ... and still do. A essential classic you've probably already heard but maybe not in a while, so treat yourself... go on.
